Together, All Connected
In a nutshell
The Together, All Connected project, led by the Belgian Red Cross, aims to support older and vulnerable people in learning digital skills in order to reduce the digital divide and promote their independence.
The context
In Belgium, nearly one person in two experiences digital vulnerability. This reality particularly affects older adults and disadvantaged groups, who often face difficulties using digital tools.
This digital divide can limit access to essential services such as healthcare, banking services, and online administrative procedures, while also increasing the risk of social isolation.
The project
The Belgian Red Cross provides personalised support to help people become familiar with digital technologies.
The project includes:
- one-to-one support from trained volunteers;
- assistance with everyday digital tools (smartphones, internet, e-services, etc.);
- support in staying connected with loved ones and accessing online services.
The support is tailored to the needs and skill level of each participant, with the goal of gradually strengthening their independence.
Impact
The project helps to:
- reduce the digital divide;
- improve access to essential services;
- strengthen beneficiaries’ autonomy;
- combat social isolation.
By helping people reconnect with the digital world, the project promotes their inclusion in an increasingly digital society.
